On 1 October 2017, Australian Industry Group filed a further submission in the FWC’s Family and Domestic Violence Leave Case. The submission addresses the “preliminary view” expressed by the Majority of the Full Bench that all award-covered employees should have access to unpaid domestic violence leave and should be able to access their personal/carer’s leave for domestic violence purposes. The submission also addresses three draft model clauses that the FWC released for public comment. Australian Industry Group is playing a leading role in the case in representing employers.

The Commission has rejected the ACTU’s claim for 10 days per year of paid domestic violence leave.

Further conferences and hearings in the case have been scheduled for 11, 13, 19 and 20 October 2017.
